Documenting the Del Veccioh family before their twins arrived was something I will always hold dear. We found a location off of a walking path in Grand Forks, ND that most people seem to just walk by, but that I’ve found to be one of my absolute favorite places to photograph.
It’s accessible, easy to find and there are many different options for families to pick from.
Now I’ve never experienced pregnancy, but I am always blown away with how strong and couragious moms are. It’s not easy to grow a human, and I know that there are days that you just want to throw in the towel, but I guarantee it’s 100000% worth it on the other side.. at least that’s what all the moms I know tell me!
What really blew me away during this session is how they had recently found out their bouncing baby boy was actually two boys, that’s right TWINS! They found out during their 28 week ultrasound and the fact that they embraced this change with love and courage was amazing. I would’ve probably flipped my lid a little.
I was glad to capture these moments before this family of three became a family of four. I think it’s incredibly important to really hold onto the moments like this during each and every pregnancy.
Like snowflakes, each pregnancy is different and should be uniquely celebrated -yes I believe you should have a maternity session, even if this is your 10th kid! I can’t tell you how many moms I’ve talked to who say they wish they’d done maternity for this or that and I tell them that if they ever get the chance again to jump on it! This season of life goes so quickly and being able to cherish the memories during it through photography is just one way to remember how incredible it was.
