Early this spring my husband and I took an impromptu trip up to Zipple Bay Minnesota for a mental health day. It was one of those days that comes after a long, arduous weekend where nothing really seemed to go… right.
So we packed up our car and headed north. We had planned for a chilly day filled with clouds and maybe some rain, what we got was a perfect reprieve from the long -and dare I say incredibly cold- winter that had lasted about 3 weeks longer than it should’ve. I was glad to get Gus and Mulligan out, away from the house and just explore with them. If there is is one thing I can recommend to anyone it’s to get a pet that can go on adventures with you. These two get us up and out of the house everyday and it makes farming season just a bit less lonely.
Since it was a weekday the beach was completely empty and we were bad dog owners who took their dogs off lead for the afternoon. We spent the entirety of the day hanging out in hammocks, talking, watching these two crazy puppies play and then had some pretty awesome pizza in Roseau.. so in all it was a good day to play hooky and I am super lucky to have my little family who likes to adventure in this gorgeous state with me.
