Take my hand and grow old with me, the best is yet to be
Even though I am kind of bummed that my blog didn’t completely transfer over when I changed names, but I’m also excited because I get to re-live gorgeous weddings like this!
Maggie and Brandon were one of my favorite weddings of 2016. After meeting with them, I kind of knew that Maggie and I would be friends.
Thankfully that’s panned out to be 100% right because we still chat and I even got to photograph a session with them this last April when I was back in Arizona.
Now their wedding was at Bonanzaville in Fargo, it was a gorgeous July day. There was impending storms, a little rain, and TONS of fun.
Thankfully the skies parted during the ceremony to allow for these two love birds to say their vows, with their dog Callie at their feet.
If you’ve never met Maggie, there is just one thing to know; Maggies smile lights up any room she walks into. Everyone that was by her side that day talked about how incredibly wonderful and loving she is to everyone she meets.
The same sense of kindness and love can be said about Brandon too, but he’s definitely less smiley and far more sarcastic -like me- so we got along swimmingly.
I loved that their wedding was so very much about them, and their families, spending time together. It was truly beautiful to watch Maggie pull up on the back of her dad’s motorcycle to be walked down the aisle to Brandon. They didn’t do a first look, so this was the first moment Brandon had seen her all day.
The ceremony was full of prayer, being surrounded by their parents to put a blessing on their union, and having a rope circle the first few rows and bridal party to signify that marriage isn’t a journey alone, but that your tribe surrounds you with their love and support.
I think the best part was Callie sleeping at their feet throughout their vows, dogs are the best!
After the ceremony the party began! There was tons of laughter, dancing and just so much fun throughout the evening. I was so impressed with the amount of dance skills I saw throughout the evening, and that Maggie asked me to dance with them too! Overall this was one wedding for the books.
A special thank you to Ali Hooper & Dacotah Ashes for being my seconds through this wedding.
